How does 1 get rid of an old tractor trailer?
We have a old semi tractor trailer here at piece of work that we used for storage. It’southward been replaced by a cargo container (conex) so we don’t have to climb into the trailer. Now we need to get rid of the old trailer, just are manifestly having a difficult fourth dimension doing so. Our shop manager has been tasked with this but he’s declining at it and says he can’t observe a style. I thought I’d see what the collective genious on CO4X4 has to say, because I effigy it can’t be that difficult.
Evidently the problem is it’s so old it doesn’t have title, or plates and is not likely road worthy. No 1 will take information technology without those things. Getting title/plates will likely exist a PITA. It’southward got to be worth something just in fleck, or someone could utilise it like we’ve been, for storage. Any suggestions?

It’s a standard semi trailer box style, what are those, 40 feet? Chopping it up would be manner more labor intensive than nosotros’d want to undertake.

In a stroke of (sarcastic) luminescence, I suggested that he repost it on Craigslist, slightly differently.
Gratis beer. One six-pack. Cold. In working refrigerator. Must accept whole fridge with beer.

Awesome….gratis beer, comes with gratuitous 40′ trailer, must take trailer… should work like a champ. I’chiliad sure nosotros’d prefer to get at to the lowest degree a few bucks for information technology, only at this signal I’m guessing if someone would just accept information technology away we’d be happy. Patently it’s the “taking information technology abroad” function that is the problem since it apparently can’t be towed due west/o a plate.

If it doesn’t stop upwards at CORE, I remember you’ll discover someone to take the trailer forth with the take a chance hauling the tagless trailer. If you don’t desire the work of scrapping the thing and you’re willing to just watch it exit the premises (even without adding beer), I’m willing to bet you lot’ll find a taker without having to participate in the physical transport nor supplying the technology of the ship.

That’s what I was bold Rex. The guy at work responsible for getting this done can’t find anyone willing to do the “not supposed to do”. I figured he’s just not looking difficult enough or doesn’t know where to await.

It’s in north Commerce Metropolis. I talked to the store manager this morning time and apparently another guy in the company like myself got tired of hearing that it couldn’t exist done and decided to have matters into his own easily. He has a buddy that wants it and is supposed to exist picking it up soon. If that falls through for whatever reason I’ll permit you guys know. I’m sure someone hither would accept information technology.

FWIW – I used to become angling with an elderly neighbor that had a minor, comfy fishing cabin he’d made out of the box off a large delivery truck (with a couple of small additions tacked on). I likewise visited a small bar one time in Michigan that was made from an sometime RR boxcar. Yankee ingenuity can get a long ways.
